My baby had an ear infection. She took amoxicillin and then it came back a week later. She is miserable, fever for a few days. Doc prescribed Augmentin but she can’t stand the taste and is throwing up every dose. Help

There are some drs who say you don’t really need antibiotics for an ear infection just pain meds and it usually heals by itself
But that being said there are 2 options
Ask you’re dr to give your child an antibiotic shot
There are pharmacies that make antibiotics, or any medication, into a suppository

Oh wow thanks! Being as it came back I do want to treat it. I didn’t know these were options. Thank you!

Even recurrent eat infections rarely need antibiotics. Try treating it naturally. (This is not true for all infections, but usually is true for ear infections. And unless your doctor cultured it, there is a great chance it's viral and the antibiotics are doing nothing at all.)

And vomitting every dose isn't a taste issue - it's most likely an allergic reaction.

I know you want to fix things for your baby already but you also don't want to make things worse in the process.

My son gets really sick (stomach pain, nausea) from augmenti. The pharmacist told me its not that uncommon. Doctor had to switch his medicine.

Please ask your pediatrician about the suppositories. My Dr claims that antibiotic suppositories don't get absorbed the same way as tylenol suppositories thereby making it less effective.

How do you suggest treating it naturally?
