My jacuzzi bathtub, when filled up, leaks from my bathroom above into my kitchen below. my regular plumber doesn't know what's wrong with it and wants to start breaking ceilings.
can anyone recommend a good plumber whom they used and were happy with?
(I am in the flatbush area)
tia!

common problem ... is it leaking only when you bathe ... when the water goes down ... or when the water is running ... do you merely need new caulking around the tub ... is there a shower door that needs to be sealed ... or is there a broken pipe ...

if your ceiling is wet anyways you're gonna need to replace the plaster ... but first check the other issues ...

ok, so here is my tub's history.
like I said, it is a jacuzzi tub. it was put in 3 years ago. everything seemed fine.
about 9 months ago, whenever an adult would try to take a bath- meaning, the water was filled pretty high, after a while sitting there in the tub, the kitchen ceiling would start leaking.
a plumber said we needed to recaulk- which we did, but that wasn't the problem- we tested it-
we filled up the tub and left it there for a while. bad move. when we returned home, the water was pouring through the ceiling.
but if you fill up the tub with water below the jets, like for a kid, then it doesn't leak.

so, expert, what's your take on this?
and wow, I'm impressed with your knowledge of this stuff.
u go girl!!

(another plumber said, maybe break the ceiling, b/c maybe it's a leaking pipe. another plumber said maybe it's the jacuzzi that needs to be fixed. all these plumbers weren't sure what the problem was and didn't want to get involved. )

so I'm looking for a top rated plumber in the flatbush area who would be able to help me.

I need my bathtub!!!
