Cops need your help getting a sicko off the street
Suspect Description
White male, 20'
Thin build, clean shaven
short, black spiky hair
last seen wearing Black t-shirt, white sneakers
forced 2 girls into black car with tinted windows. One of the girls is only 4.

just heard it on the news... with that said - I take these reports with a grain of salt sometimes, since that story on pesach, where I KNOW for sure t hat the story was highly exxagarated and almost completely false.. was just posting what I "heard"...

nothing happened today. the developing story is only of that they linked the 2 stories that happened to be the same sicko who did them. bh nothing happened today, enough happened today.

These stories are horrible.
Unfortunately, I think it is important to start teaching our children what to do in case of an abduction. For my Masters program in education, the state requires you to attend an abduction seminar (along with alcohol abuse, child abuse, etc.).
It is not enough to teach students what to do in case of a fire drill. We have to teach them what to do in case they are abducted. Abductors love anonymity. If they think they are spotted or seen, in most cases they will let there victim go. It's important to teach children to MAKE NOISE. SCREAM and squirm like a worm (to quote my professor). Grab hold of the nearest object that is anchored (like a fence). Make it hard for the abductor. They say the statistics for those who stay quiet are not as good like the ones who make some noise.

Oy gevald! I am up in the country, B & B. I couldn't wait last night until you wrote back and I quickly logged on to Vos Iz Nais, where I read about the chorban. Nebach, nebach. Horrors.
Y'know, I was telling my husband that being a parent just makes me able to relate to all tzoros around us. When I read the kinos on Tisha B'av, some parts were kinda' hard to relate to. I never experienced the Bais Hamikdash, can't imagine the holiness, beauty, etc. But, when I read the tzoros that were happening to small children I cried terribly. I instantly envision my kinderlach (ch'v) and the dam just opens. So, last night when I read about the elevator tragedy, and I have a five-year-old, may she live to 120 and be well IY"H, I just felt like my heart was going to burst with pain.

so much tehillim to be said, so many sad things happening.... elul is coming up.. makes me stop and think of my priorities and see what I can do to make a difference in this world...
