Hi. Want to name our baby “ frimmet”. What do I do for legal? Frimmy? Or other ideas?

I wouldn't do frimmy as a legal name. IMHO it doesn't look like a name.

Maybe Frumit.

Personally I would try to make it mature looking and phonetically spelled as much ad possible.

Why is Frimmy any better than Frimmet as a legal name?

Why do you need a legal name that is different than the name you are giving? I think it's weird that an official legal name would be the nickname of a given name. You could really do anything you want but I personally don't see the point.

The name in general is an adjustment.. so I’m just curious how to spell it? Thanks for your advice. Like in the doctors office what looks right?

Yes. My legal name is a nickname and I dislike it thoroughly.

Hey, I just gave a Frimmy! It was a big adjustment, but I must admit that my daughter is a princess!

I wrote Frimet.

If she becomes a dr or judge one day, which name do you think will be most compelling?

THink about the child as an adult.

If you want the name to be Frimet and you want to call her that, put that on the Birth Certificate.

If she decides that Frimmy as a nickname is not her style in the future (or it's never used), what is the point of putting it there? It will follow her around forever instead of the actual name you gave.

If the name is officially Frimmy, then put that. But it sounds like the name is Frimet, so put that!

I would be curious why you're trying to change the name for the birth certificate. What are you concerned about? That's going to help people respond better for what your specific concern is...because you can put whatever you want on the legal papers so curious what your concern is?
