My baby was born big and it took her time to go back to birth weight like almost three weeks
Now ever since she is gaining but supperrr slowly
She’s gaining like 3 oz / 100 grams a week
I switched to pumping and feeding her bottles to make sure she was getting enough and we thought that would do the trick and then she would gain all the weight
But she didn’t!
Now dr said something about swing a gastro
Anyone have experience with This
Why isn’t she gaining enough weight??

This may be off but are you bonding with her? Holding her and feeling connected to her?
Otherwise it can be a digestion issue or I would speak to a lactation consultant or baby nurse.

I don't know how dangerous it is, but what speaks against seeing a specialist?
That isn't a lot of weight gain for a newborn and you don't want her to be compromised long term because of lack of nutrition.

People vary. Maybe your milk is not high-fat enough. Maybe YOU are not fat enough. Eat lots of butter on bread, salted or not, but lots. Vanilla ice cream with active-culture yogurt mixed into it.
Fat, fat. Animal fat.
Eat a steak. Don't trim the fat much. Fry or broil it in strips. Just season it with IODIZED salt. You need the iodine.
Eggs too. The yolks too.
Do talk to some specialist. They may be afraid to tell you that your milk isn't fat enough and you have to use a formula. I hope that isn't true but it might be. Don't worry about it. The main thing is the kid gets her calories one way or another.

3 ounces a day is just under half an ounce a day, which is recommended amount according to more than 3 lactation consultants that I've been to with different kids. It's for sure not dangerous. Without knowing anything else about you and your baby, it seems like you're doing ok. Maybe try adding in one more feeding per day.

I’ve nursed my other kids and it was ttly fine
I’m also using donor milk
I rlly doubt it’s our milk that isn’t “rich” enough
But thanks for the tips

Try formula. Then you'll know if it's a milk issue. Keep weighing her on the same scale in the doctors office. She might just have a slower growth curve but if she's constantly gaining even a little, that calmed my doctor down. This baby is just always more petite than her sibs even when she was born the same size

Why would formula help
The lactation consultant said it has same amount of calories as my milk

My daughter gained much less than that. They should test for allergies. We never figured out the issue for my daughter and she’s still small but doing fine.

Each kid is different, you are older, the kid is different kid, the past may not be a good predictor for the present.
Maybe your milk does not have enough sugar? Sugar puts on weight as we all know.
if her food is going through her and she is not using it, not keeping it, that is a discussion for the doctor.
Maybe they should image her. Everything inside should look right on the image.

I added one formula bottle a day. But she was gaining just not as much as my others that were over 20 lbs by 6 months

There is an easy way to tell.
Freeze a sample and see what proportion is water and what proportion is fat.
