I have a funny idea, I thought of opening a nice clean rest area on 13th Ave.
Would you pay $ to stop into a clean place in shopping center to nurse or tend to your baby's needs? Or to use the restrooms?
How much would you pay?
(how am I covering the monthly 13th ave rent?)

I would pay $5 for a clean bathroom but I wouldn't want to pay $15 because it's me and my 2 daughters.

price will have to per per person- including infants... otherwise how do I cover the rent?
maybe there is goverent funding available for this service? then any price is good enough..

The upkeep and rent would be astronomical. How would you make money on this? I’m not sure a enough people would pay for this

Oh! That changes things! I wouldn't pay 10-15 per person! I would pay 10-15 for my family, so I guess that's $2-3 a person.

I thought about it long ago lol. Most people who are on the avenue long enough stop for lunch and go there. Also you would need full time cleanup help while it might not be full all the time. I can’t see it being profitable.

I would have a childrens soft play area there too + a coffee and lunch grab and go

But main charge should not be for bathroom/nursing

Have lots of vending machines to bring in money. Snacks, drinks.. I’ve seen vending machines that sell emergency items like diapers, first aid kits, pads/ tampons, sun tan lotion etc..

Make a membership.
Sell basic necessities, diapers, wipes, pads, water bottles, etc.
Have a choice, entrance price or per amenity price.
Is this women only?

I would pay 5-10 per family. But since it’s per person, I change my vote to 2-5

Yes, this seems more doable. And maybe have a few couches. This way you attract customers who need to rest their feet a little.

They had this several years ago in Geula. It didn't last very long.
Between upkeep, cleaning cost and rent it cost so much.

Probably would make the most sense to do this in conjunction with another business. Have a small business selling some niche product, and use the rest of the space for some seating, vending machines and for-pay restrooms.

I would expect a heavily-trafficked shopping center to have a free clean restroom.

Stores usually pay for the upkeep as part of the overhead that comes from renting space in a shopping center.

If you do it in the block in a basement or something the rent can be cheaper.
