.Did you know that these products usually have expiration dates? Old shampoo and sunscreen could be unsafe.

Deodorant: (antiperspirant) typically expires one to three years after the purchase date. The expiration date is usually located on the bottom or back of the label. Using expired deodorant or antiperspirants won’t likely harm your health. However, the formula or fragrance of the product may deteriorate

Shampoo

Most shampoos last for 18 months after being opened, and the label will indicate a "period after opening" (PAO) date, such as 6M, 12M, 18M, or 24M. An unopened bottle can last up to two or three years. According to WebMD, you should avoid using expired shampoo because it can cause your hair to look dull and dirty, and can irritate your scalp and eyes. Expired shampoo has undergone an irreversible chemical change, and the preservatives have probably lost their potency. In the worst-case scenario, you may get a scalp infection, which can lead to patchy hair loss or wounds.

Toothpaste does expire, but the expiration date is required primarily for the effectiveness of the ingredients found in each individual tube, typically with a shelf life of two years from the date of manufacture. Both the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the ADA (American Dental Association), require toothpaste products to have a set date of expiration so we know when it becomes less effective in ensuring we get a proper clean. This is primarily aimed at toothpastes containing fluoride,

SUNSCREEN

Do not use sunscreen products that have passed their expiration date (if there is one).Do not use sunscreen products that have no expiration date and were not purchased within the last three years.Discard expired sunscreens because they may not be safe and effective anymore. If you do not know how old your sunscreen is, discard it.
