We're on the fence about whether to send DS to Kindergarten a 2nd year. We like the class and would love for him to go with that group of kids, but he's a little young and immature in learning. My question is, if first grade is tough for him, would it be so terrible for him to do first grade over rather than kindergarten?

Kindergarten is always better to stay behind then 1st grade. I teach first grade If he is immature and on the younger end I would keep him one more year in kindergarten. Ask his current teacher her opinion as well, I don't know the dynamics of his class .
