DH is looking for Shabbos shirts for the summer but he doesn't know what to get. In the winter, he wore a nice sweater. Now, he feels lost. He is on his own path and isn't interested in the Charedi look of a white shirt, but he wants to feel Shabbos-dik.
Any ideas? I am in Israel so Israeli stores or NextDirect/Mark & Spensers work best for me. But I will be in the US at some point in the summer so US stores also work.
Preferably not a button down. He's expressed that he doesn't like the look.

My son has some nice light knit polo sweaters that he wears on shabbos afternoon. I think that could look very nice.

Light T-shirt with a patterned or colored blazer? Looks more formal than everyday wear but still has room for personality.
If you're Sephardic, spring for a turban and robe and tell everyone you're going back to tradition lol

I'm Charedi Lite and if I had to give him a category, he is Dati Lite. We used to both be Charedi. It goes both ways. He keeps Shabbos and Kosher (and THM) and is respectful.
When he first decided he didn't want white shirts during the week, I decided to have fun and I went shopping for him and got him things that I felt we'd both love. I was right on almost all of them.
Then he decided he wanted jeans, so I tried a bunch of jeans but bought dark washes for a more mechubad look, while at the same time he could feel like he was wearing jeans... All the jeans I tried looked awful on him (and he hates shopping with a passion). He doesn't have an easy figure for them. So then he went back to regular chinos and I can't say I was upset
It works out well. He feels very loved and accepted and on my end, I can make sure he looks mechubad. |
This is beautiful. You are the epitome of חכמת נשים בנתה ביתה. You should have tremendous bracha.
