DH and I like the name Benzion, but we were also wondering about a female version of this name. Either in meaning or sound, but more preferably the meaning/root. (FYI we don't really like Batzion or Baszion.)
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
TIA

I’m struggling with a similar issue. I really like the name Shalom (peace) and if I have a girl, I feel strange giving shulamit, since it is totally unrelated and not of the same root!

what about shlomit? Instead of shulamit.
For Ben tzion Tziona is the only thing that comes to mind.

I wouldn't recommend Shlomit, because of Shlomit bat Divri from the chumash

a friend of mine named Shlomit was told by her rav to change it to Shulamit for this reason.

Probably because anyone frum enough to spell Shalom "Sholom" would not give a boy's name to a girl.

Do you also oppose Chava, Leah, Tamar, Miriam, Michal, Batsheva, etc.?

Shlomis bas Divri is known only for one negative character trait, and one negative thing happening to her, so that knocks out most of your list.
(Yes, Tamar had a negative thing happen to her, Naomi Ragen seems to wonder about that name as well. )

What did Chava do that was positive?
Why rule out the name because their was one person who had that name who did something negative? The name itself has meaning, and if someone likes it why not use it? I don't think it's like naming your child Adolf, where the connotations are overwhelming.
(Added because my son wants to see what happens when you click a smiley.)

I can't answer this, since I didn't davka promote it. And I know some pretty frum Shlomises from parents who are familiar with Tanach, to say the least.
