Yesterday I learned from my father that he was in hospital. The docs aren't sure what's wrong with him.
He had been convinced just a few weeks ago to at last go to a retirement house (he didn't want to abandon his dog, and until the retirement house he would walk it every day, climb the stairs to his apt every day, etc). He hasn't much to live for, most of his friends are dead, he is widowed since 1945, childless, alone, etc.
He had a really sad and bad life. He always struggled and had to care for his mother, then his widowed sister and her daughter, etc.
My father is worried crazy but he can't visit him because he has a bug and there would be a risk.
