At Smart and Final I notice a 3 pound bag of freshly shredded potatoes obviously with a 'chof-k'... Curious... Has anyone ever made potato latkes with this roduct? Can you share a recipe??!
I hate using afood processor. It's one more item to clean and I am afraid someone will cut themselves on a loos blade as it dries. Is it possible to make latkes by hand? Does the recipe change?

I and my mother have been using it for years - it's the best time-saving trick. This year, I can't find them, though. just use regular latke recipe...

How can potatoes be fresh shredded and bagged? What keeps them from turning black?
I have used the frozen shredded (defrosted of course) and they came out quite good.

I ordered mine ready peeled this year. big time saver. then I thought: if I can get them ready peeled and chipped, why not ready shredded?

Hey, Valleymom! I'm a "city" mom, so I know Smart and Final. I'd love to hear if you actually tried using the shredded potatoes, and how it came out!
