Baked Vegetable Dim Sum (makes about 2 dozen)
3/4 C water
1/2 tsp salt
2 T sugar
2 C flour
2 tsp yeast
Run this all in machine on dough cycle. Meanwhile make filling:
1 tsp oil
1/4 C grated carrot
1 tsp minced ginger
1 minced garlic clove
2 chopped scallions
1 C bean sprouts
2 T minced water chesnuts
1 tsp cornstarch
1 T soy sauce
Just mix these all up in a bowl.
Roll dough out to 24 3" rounds. Spoon t tsp filling into each. Pinch together the dough to seal it. Let rise 30 minutes on a greased baking sheet. Preheat oven to 375 and bake dumplings 10-15 minutes til golden.

Steamed Dim Sum with meat filling
3/4 C water
1 T oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2C flour
2 tsp yeast
Run in machine on dough cycle and meanwhile make filling:
in 1 1/2 tsp oil, brown
1/2 lb ground meat mixed with
1/4 tsp salt
1 minced garlic clove
1 tsp minced ginger
when browned mix in 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch and 1 T soy sauce.

Roll dough out to 24 3" cicles. Put 1 tsp filling in each, pinch to close. Let rise on a greased plate or steamer for 30 minutes, steam while still on that plate or steamer for 10 minutes and serve hot (if you cover with foil after and place on a blech or in a warmed but turned off oven you can serve warm for Shabbos dinner, they hold well).

You can mix and match the fillings or substitute other asian style fillings of your choice. My family actually finds these filling recipes a little bland so I mix in a little sesame oil or other seasonings, but the recipes are good and the dumpling doughs are very easy, tasty, and forgiving.

I haven't tried it with the one that says, "steamed," but if you do let us know how it works! Like I said, the first recipe is meant to be baked, anyway.
