I'm craving something really badly but can't pinpoint what it is. Its like a bar, but not. Definitely not a cookie like choc chip or a brownie, but maybe something caramelly or sugary or salty and sweet. Maybe crunchy even.
I think it'll have to be something more like a confection type than a cake so it might be no bake I suppose, but doesn't have to be no bake.
I really need help I'm craving it, but since I can't seem to label it I can't find the recipe.
But.... I know I'll have to cook it really soon.

Here's a recipe that DH is addicted to. He hides it away in the refrigerator so no one else can find it!
(OK, it is a Pesach recipe, but you can make it with graham crackers for right now. But trust me -- even with matzo it is delicious!)
Susie Fishbein's recipe for praline strips
Ingredients:
3-4 whole matzos
1 cup or 2 sticks unsalted butter or margarine
1 cup dark brown sugar
12 ounces chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bars
1 cup finely chopped pecans or chopped almonds
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cover a large cookie sheet with aluminium foil.
2. Grease the foil with butter or margarine. Lay the matzos in a single layer, breaking as needed to fill the sheet completely. Set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter or margarine over medium-low heat. Add the brown sugar; boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Watch carefully to make sure it doesn't boil over.
4. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the matzos, spreading evenly. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes. Turn the oven off.
5. Remove the pan and sprinkle the chocolate over the matzos. Place it back in the oven for another 8 minutes.
6. Remove from the oven and spread the chocolate in an even layer. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans or almonds.
7. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

I call these peanut butter yodels-no baking or cooking involved:
2 cups peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
2 cups marshmallow fluff
2 cups rice krispies (or equivalent no name brand)
mix all together. roll into long, thin logs. (I put them in the freezer for a bit at this point-makes it easier.)
cut logs into 1- 1 1/2 inch pieces. dip into melted chocolate. let set.
enjoy

how about biscotti?
Its sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy, and I always make sure to have some in the freezer for exactly that kind of craving! It fills all my needs. Search for Biscotti recipe- I posted here a while ago.

I skeptically made these. They are amazing. Very easy. They were devoured.
Shanie, you should post them in their own thread!
