The past few week my illuminated mirror has been lighting up on its own. No one is near it, and nothing is shaking the dresser it is on. We have seen it happen.
The strangest part is, so far it has only happened on Shabbos!

Funny. My mom has this stereo (was mine long time ago), that sometimes would turn on on FULL blast by itself... Think Shabat, midnight, yomtov..!!! Worse, it generally has pop music cd's from the missies in it!!

Is the mirror fitted with fluorescent bulbs? They can light up from random electromagnetic fields generated by just about anything--microwave ovens or pretty much any kind of electrical equipment. even static electricity.

We had a t.v. that did that. It was spooky, but we came to realize that it was powered on by sound.
Different types of energy affect different items.
Light, sound, electrical fields etc.
You could try and make it a scientific experiment to find out what the cause is and how to stop it.

Oh and the volume kept going up and down too. We weren't anywhere near the remote. It had something to do with the room under us...
