is this hand made?
some yarns are machine washable, some are not. when I make a baby blanket I make sure it's washable. it's best to wash on cold, tumble dry low/hang dry. warning: if it's not machine washable, don't try it anyway. some wools stink when wet. spot clean those when necessary, and hang them outside to dry if possible. if it stinks, your whole house will stink, probably for a few days.

I blve cold water, if u have a 'hand wash cycle' thats prob best. and lay flat to dry. Beware: some of them r dry clean only. my sister got a gorgeous blanket from inlaws and with one wash it shrank less than half the orig sz, its history. Be carefeul. Disclaimer: I take no responsibility.

did someone you know make it, or is it bought? contact either the person who made it or the store for info. when in doubt, handwash.

My daughter has a handmade knitted blanket. The first time I washed it, I did it by hand. The next time, I decided to try it in the machine with cold water on the delicate cycle, in a mesh bag. I let it air dry. It worked out fine.
