I once asked the Rav such a Sheila about a Pesachdig single range that I used for Fleishigs one year, and then a year later (with no use during that time) I wanted to Kasher for Milchigs.
He said that these things are very complicated to actually Kasher correctly, and that I should just buy a new one.
(Rav was Rabbi Asher Balanson)

my rebbeim (ner yisroel) said that an electric range does not become milchig or fleishig. and anyways to kasher it you just put it up to high for 5 min.
so even if you had to it wouldn't take time...

this is what you are talking about, right?
a "single range burner" that is electric?
how is that different than the other 4 or 6 you have on your stove? I dont have a milchig stove top and a fleishig stove top. I only know of a few people, who, when building new kitchens, did it like that, and IMO it wasnt worth the expense. one side of the counter (to the left) is milchigs, other side is fleishigs. we dont put silverware etc on the stove top,and we certainly arent eating the food that falls between the grates, so how would you kasher it?
