Tidying the room could start as early as 1.5. My two year old does an excellent job cleaning her toys. although she doesn't make her bed yet, and I have to do alot of encouraging and song singing, it's still a back saver for me.

ARRRGGGGH!!!! Don't even ask! I've been nudging for a couple of years now, (10 & 6 yr. olds) I make them clean up their mess, every time!!! BUT, they don't get it that if they don't make a mess in the first place they won't be bothered by me to clean up, 'cause they NEVER do it on their own, I have to make them stop what they're doing and go clean up! I probably started asking them at around age 4-5(?)

You got to start them when they're young. As young as possible.
