My little boys cloths get so black and filthy in the summer with the sand and mud, their cloths needs to be immediatly soaked in order to get some of it out.
Can I leave the cloths sitting in my washing machine with water in it for a few days?
I remember over hearing someone say, it's not healthy for the washing machine, to sit with water over a few days.

I did it a few times and broke my machine. Apparently, I rusted the inside and had to replace some parts. I would suggest soaking it in some kind of bin instead.

I was also told by a repsir person that I wore out some part inside - can't remember the name - because I soaked stuff a lot. Now I soak in a sink or bucket.

You find it gets a moldy smell even in a bucket of soapy detergent?
