Which wireless router should I get?

I am getting a laptop now but have dsl modem for my desktop so I need a good but cost efficient router. Any recommendations? Are there big differences between one company or another?
What should I look for? How much should I expect to spend?

generally - D-link, Linksys are good ones - some of the trendnet ones are good too - do some research online - epinions, cnet are good places to start - look at what models are in your price range and available... and then google reviews of them and see what you come up with.
I would stay with a brand name and not a no-name one...
