My 8 month old is sleeping way more than he is supposed to. He slept today from 9:30 - 11:45. He went back to sleep 12:45 - 2:15. By 3:45 he was sleeping again till 5:00. That is all after a regular night of sleep. He is quite cranky when up & not eating too well. I called the ped to check his hemoglobin, but it is fine 12.0.

maybe he is going through a growth spurt ...
could he be teething and sleeping it off ...
I wouldn't worry too much - but it would be annoying if he switches his night to day ...

Did the doctor see him? I've had some babies who slept like that, but she did it all the time; that was her pattern. THis sounds weird. The baby should definitely be seen by the doctor. I've known kids to react this way to infections.

the baby could be sick...may want to do a full bloodwork and check blood cell counts and stuff...it doesn't sound right.
