my kids do not like soup or cholent, and one all-together doesn't want to be fleishig. Any suggestions of what to make as a staple for shabbos? Somethings that is not to much of a potchky and a complete healthy meal (not too many separate dishes)

These are meaty suggestions, but what about meatballs or stuffed cabbage?

Stir fry. I make mine with tofu, so it's also vegetarian. (I DO use a fleishig frying pan, so it's not 100% pareve.)
I don't like cholent either. I make it once a year, for DH's birthday.

our first course on Shabbos is fish and lots of salads - anyone who refuses to become fleishik can stop right there and they've already had a balanced meal.

Just a few nutritious ideas (although not complete-meals-in-one): hardboiled eggs, potatos or potato salad, corn shnitzel microwaved for 2 minutes before Shabbos - can be heated on an overturned pan on the bech/hotplate

whats this mishegoss of not becoming fleishig? if you eat enough of your meal you won't need that chocolate or ice cream. and if your having a craving there are some yummy parve substitutes.......

I don't like being fleishig in the winter until well after Shabbat ends. I don't like it during the week either. Not everyone LIKES meat...if I could live on dairy & pareve foods I'd be very happy. Fleishigs for me is NOT an oneg.

How about a different kind of soup and cholent?
Or adding croutons, farfel, rice, kneidlach, etc- whatever they like, to the soup?
