The grout in the corners is black no matter what I put on it. Does this mean it is mold? Do I need to regrout? Is it just dirty? Tonight I used the foaming powerful tile cleaner and let it sit for a while before wiping and washing it down. It looked a little better. Tomorrow I am asking the cleaning lady to use COMET!
Any other suggestions?????

Bleach, bleach, bleach. Dab on, let sit, rinse. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

YOU ARE A GENIUS.
Simple yet effective.
Tell me you are currently living in Israel...
:-)
All my friends who made aliyah manage to come with simple solutions to everyday problems.

merely, I have heard they don't sell ammonia here because it can be used to make bombs. Anyhooooo, I bleach about once during the winter and once at the end of the winter and the mold doesn't show up until... the next winter. Who cares if the mold spores are dead or alive: at least the bathroom looks good.
Anyway, yeah I am in Israel but I used bleach in the U.S. as well.

Hubby thinks the grout is just discolored and he says he will regrout before our Pesach guests come for a week and insist on showering in the yard with our hose.
But I am still going to try the BLEACH!

We got it all off with mold spray, and if we decide to rent our apt. another year we will go ahead and paint with anti-mold paint.

My cleaning lady likes to put bleach in a spray bottle, spray all of the tiled shower walls, leave it to sit while she does something else... and then comes back to scrub it all after a while.
After doing this a few times, your grout should be pretty clean.
If not, get a mold remover spray as well.
Good luck! I hate cleaning bathrooms too!
