I took out a bag of milk from the freezer to defrost (on the counter). I don't need to use it anymore today. It is still very cold, but no ice in it anymore, can I put in the fridge and save it for the amount of time it usually lasts in the fridge, or do I need to use it now that its defrosted?

The recommendation is 24 hours from defrosting.
But if it still smells fine, I'd use it even past then.

Yes, you would. I have once in my memory smelled spoiled milk. Breastmilk usually doesn't spoil. Guidelines are for "just in case" "to be sure" types of things -- but many times it can go past then just fine
