My hat's off to you, amother actuary- I passed four CAS exams and then got too busy with the kids to keep going, especially since exams are not a big deal at my company unless one's doing reserving. There are only a couple (out of >100) of product managers who are FCAS here.

I manage a respite program which cares for several needy children. I'm responsible for their education - after school hours I help them with their homework, I'm the cook there, I help out with their laundry and maintaining the home. I also am responsible for their emotional well- being which in each child is a complete different 'parsha'. I do play therapy with some, one needs gym, nutritional advice, I deal with their tantrums, quirks, etc..
And when I go to bed at night, I thank g-d for giving me my children to care for!
By the way -- I do have another job besides for being a mom!

Amther actuary here...Chanie, I only passed 2 exams so far. We are expecting our first, and I am already nervous about what's going to be. I am trying to figure out what else to do with my math skills/education. Any suggestions, besides teaching?

My sister and BIL are both actuaries (I think they've passed 4 tests each at this point?). There are several frum actuaries that work in her building. Do you work in Clayton, perchance? It seems to be a great occupation for a frum mom - very flexible hours. My sister works from 6 AM to 12 PM, her dh works from 10 AM to 6 PM and that way their son is only in day care a few hours a day.

Amother Actuary,
I would think that there'd be a lot of options open. First, not all companies are big into exams. I work for a major (top 10) auto insurer and almost nobody takes exams except the reserving group. So in my company at any given time there are dozens of analyst jobs of all types - pricing, competitor research, marketing, analysts who work projecting call center staffing needs and phone statistics, etc. etc.. Two actuarial exams would be a plus to get in the door, but there'd be no pressure to continue. Especially true if you have a bachelors in mathematics / statistics/ engineering / other hard science. Anyhow, I cannot believe that my company is the only one that feels this way.

Amother actuary, I would love to ask you few questions about actuarial job. Would you pm me please. Chani may I ph you as well? I have a job as call center representative in organization which deals with Holocaust survivors but meanwhile I am thinking about my next job. Actuary sounds very exiting to me.
