Shorten Baked Ziti Prep Time?

Is there a way to get away with putting uncooked noodles and water and other ingredients in oven? If don't feel like cooking noodles first/no time...

A friend told me she takes a lb of noodles, a jar of marinara sauce, refills the jar most of the way with water, pours that into the pan as well, adds cheese, and bakes covered for an hour. I have never tried it.

(Actually, she might do without cheese, and add cheese last few minutes...I don't remember. Sorry.)

I usually add everything to the pot- sauce, cheese, once I cooked and strained the macaroni and not bake it. That is also yummy.

I boil the noodles the day before. If you bake them raw, it takes longer then, too. I don't think you save any time.

actually, before a few weeks ago, I had never heard of preparing the noodles before!
I layer in a 9 x 13 pan: a bit of sauce on the bottom, then raw lasagne noodles, more sauce, veggies (optional), cottage cheese (optional), american cheese, and then start again. I usually do 4 layers. then fill with water till about half way up the pan, cover tightly, and bake for 1.5 - 2 hours

yummy and easy!

I actually ended up making the no boil lasagna! It was easier than dealing with the ziti, even though I was more in the baked ziti mood.

Twizzlers, hope you and the kids are feeling better!
