Please help: a whole bag of DH clothes had been left on front porch, after returning from our daughters shiva brochos.Yesterday I finally opened it and nearly fainted with the smells of mildew.. A few garments had spots but everything else looks fine.
I washed three times in a row with double quantity of detergent and it still smells! I put into the dryer with several bounty sheets - still smells.
Please help before my husband comes home, or I will have to post on shalom bayis forum!!! Any suggestion greatly appreciated - please no blame!

First, you need to place the garments in the washing machine on a rinse cycle, with no detergent. (Even if you already washed them.)
Then wash on a full cycle with detergent as usual.
If the clothes are white, you may be able to get the dots out by soaking the garments in a solution of boiling water and Cascade (it has bleach in it) for a few days.
Good luck!
