ok 2 things just upped and disappeared from my computer one day and I rely heavily on both of them.
First of all in the quick launch section the thing I used to press to show me desktop stopped working. Now it's gone altogether.
in IE the google toolbar has also gone missing even when I tick for it to appear.
can anyone help me figure this out?

it seems like maybe it was rearranged. Do you see two black arrows after the first few quick launch icons? That means that you have so many, the computer is hiding the rest. If you click there and see 'show desktop' icon then you have to press on ti and don't let go until you dragged it back to the beginning near the start button. You will see a black cursor line telling you where it will be, so then you can let go.

No there aren't any black arrows, I had looked for that. I only have 4 things there. I like to keep it as uncluttered as possible

* Press the Windows logo key+D on your keyboard.
* Right-click the Windows taskbar, and then click Show the Desktop or click Show Open Windows.
