am I the only one with this issue?
I cannot seem to be able to cut peppers with a non serrated knife.
I have good knives, bad knives, expensive knives, cheap knives, and still I cannot use anything other than serrated to cut them . THEY DO NOT CUT!
skin up skin down...doesnt matter. I end up working so hard that I end up getting so frustrated.
although I do prefer skin side up. what do you do? and what do you use?

If serrated knives work for you, what's the problem? The Kitchen Police are not inspecting to see if you use the "correct" tools.
Myself, I use a nonserrated kitchen knife or paring knife. When properly sharpened, they cut either way. when not sharpened, they won't cut the skin if it's skin side down unless I press very hard.
The Kitchen Police say you should use a nonserrated knife for tomatoes, too, but I find that a serrated one works better than a dull nonserrated.

I use a good non-serated knife for peppers -- normally skin down (and tomatoes too). No problem with it.

I use non-serated, but I find the best way to cut them if the knife needs sharpening is to stand the pieces of pepper on their sides. very easy.

I love serrated knives. I have one of those 'kosher' knives that say parve on it, and I use it at least 2x daily! I always cut with the peel up- if you do it peel down, then they don't separate

skin side down usually. swiss knife (either serated or not). I can't use any other knife for this job!

Skin down, either small serrated knife, or my big good knives - usually those.

You need a knife sharpener. If the knife cannot cut a pepper, its not sharp enough.
