Yes, it's a "thing"; I've heard of people buying pretzels on their way home from havdaleh motzei Pesach!

Well, if you're working then that does pose a problem. Otherwise, it's a long day - a very busy one indeed, but B'H that Shabbos comes only at around 7:25 p.m. I plan to be up until after 1:00 a.m. on Motzei Yom Tov - wash and pack away all the Pesach dishes, go to sleep, get up and bake fresh challahs (with a key in them - anybody else observes this minhag?), cook cholent w/beans (which we did not use during Pesach - no kitniyos for us), take out a frozen chicken soup from the freezer which I made b/4 Pesach, having had this Shabbos in mind, throw in a tiny potato kugel (if anybody can still look at potatoes), make matzoh brei for ferfl, my fish is in the fridge- cooked on Chol Hamoed and put away hot and well-wrapped so it retains its freshness, and then we will send hubby out to search the local bakeries for some fresh kokosh cake - Shabbos morning traditional breakfast!
Not so tough, right?
Hey, we didn't even touch upon laundry... Rolling Eyes

Downs, did you actually cook fish on chol hamoed for after yomtov? And you expressly stated it's for Shabbos?

How is that allowed?

We eat falscha fish all of Pesach, and on Achron Shel Pesach we are already allowed to eat real fish. So, on Chol Hamoed I cooked fish for Achron and I put some aside for Shabbos too.
