So we get back to our apartment after spending a month in America, to find that the fuse had blown a few weeks ago and there was no electricity. I had left some chicken & meat in the freezer, so you can imagine the smell.
Any idea how to get rid of the horrid stench from my freezer?

I've heard that using a solution of bicarbonate of soda and water to clean fridges gets rid of bad smells. Never tried it myself though.
What a terrible welcome home.
So, welcome back to Israel.

Keeping an open box of baking soda, or a plastic cup half full, really helps absorb bad odors in the fridge. I've heard that mixing some vanilla extract into whatever solution you use, also helps.
