My almost 2 year old cries hystericly when I cut his nails. He never liked it too much, but lately it's getting worse. He screams, pulls back his fingers making it almost impossible to cut. I'm using a nail clipper very gently, I talk, sing or give him toys to hold but nothing helps. Can anyone please help me with a solution?

DS gets to watch Mickey Mouse while we cut his nails. It works well.

I give them a jelly to munch on and do it whilst they are strapped into their highchairs so can't wriggle so much. at the beginning they still used to scream but I also tell them again and again that it won't hurt and keep asking them "does it hurt? NO!" and have found that after a while the message sinks in and now they tell me "doesn't hurt" and they stop making a fuss. then we go on and on about how big they are that they don't cry anymore...
good luck!
