When you walk down the street and you see someone that you know, but not friends with, and they see you, what would you say would be the distance you would greet or acknowledge the person? I was walking today and that's what happened to me and it just felt weird that we saw each other, but didn't say hola until we were about 4-5' away.

I never really thought about it, but I think that I'd probably just smile and say "Hi" as we pass each other...probably 2-3' away.
