I recently learned to crochet and I am looking for snood patterns.
I can't see paying exorbitant prices for something I can make myself in a few hours.
I checked all the usual pattern styles, but have not found any for snoods.
TIA

Google crochetpattercentral.com and search the site for snoods. I've seen a few there. I would post a link if I would be on a regular computer Wink

Some of these may not be for full-size snoods (and they may need to be lined), but they should be easy to extend. (NB I haven't made any of them myself - yet!)

I hope these help.

GOT ONE FOR YOU

I tried this out and just finished today. Officially it is a "Slouchy Beanie" but it can work as a snood with minor adjustments

http://www.crochetspot.com/fre.....anie/

Do the pattern as instructed. Rounds 8-14 are the same- keep going past round 14 the same way until it is as long as you want it. After rounds 18-19, add some rounds of single crochets to keep it a bit tighter- I think I did 4 rounds.

It looks good. let me know if you want a picture

I made a couple of them a while ago, I didn't use a pattern, but sometimes you can see how it's coming out as you're making it. You just increase and decrease as needed in even intervals, just like any hat.

For the main part I used a half double crochet stitch, and and for the headband I used a single or any dense stitch. It looks really good with a variegated color yarn when you switch the types of stitches. It gives it a nice pattern.

I didn't wear them much, but they looked good, only too warm. I used a thick yarn so they're only good for the winter. Crocheting with a thinner yarn would take a long time.

he he. The type of yarn I used is a very specialized yarn. It goes by the name "leftover from a project I worked on who knows how long ago" From what I can tell it is a medium weight yarn
