I have a pre-cut shaitel that is naturaly curly, but I wear it straight. It frizzes out all the time. Ive been told permanantly straightning it will help. Any opinions about this?

You could use a ceramic hair (straighten-er) iron, (after using heat protection spray first) then add a bit of hair-straightening product with silicone or dimethecone, which repels moisture and frizz. The lovely quality of curly hair is that it has height at the roots (it won't lay flat on your head like a latke), and curly wigs hold a set better than fine, flat hair (in my opinion). I don't know anything about permanent 'straightener' process. If it's anything like a reverse perm, it could slightly traumatize the hair, affect its longevity. Good luck with it.

Yes I did. I never wear it. It looks green and dead. I did see somebody who did it who had a great experience. However, it was horrible for me. Could be that it was a horrible sheitel. Which it was. Een thought I paid good money for it.

I'd think it would destroy the hair. It's probably better to try to sell it (or give it to a gemach) and get a new straight one.

Why did you get a curly one if you straighten it? I'd trade it in for a straight one, and not mess with it.
I have naturally stick straight hair, and I plan on getting a curly/wavy sheitel. I guess some people are never happy.
