OMG-- I read this book over Y"T and am almost done and I can't get enough. This is the autobiography of R' Yitzchok Zilber zt'l who was a renowned posek in EY. He lived in Russia from 1916-1972 and raised three frum children there. It's unique because most of the stories of Russian Jews are either of wayyyyyy back or of those who discovered yiddishkeit along the way. Here is a man who came from a frum, Rabbonishe family and remained true to his faith while serving as a university professor for 20 years-- never working on Shabbos etc.
It's written in a pretty random order but each story had my jaw dropping more. What blew me away was his dikduk b'mitzvos-- even on the 'small' stuff.
This is one book I think I'll be reading again and again IY"H
