Has anyone read Seams & Souls - is it worthwhile for a novice?
Also anyone have a review on 1001 T.I.P.S put out by the BY of Toronto?

I am not a sewer but everything was marked in level of difficulty, beginners, intermediate and advanced.
Even if you don't sew it had some very creative ideas of how to fix up clothes which you could ask a seamstress to do. If I remember correctly it also had a basic section on basic sewing methods and tips.
1001 TIPS- had various ideas on housework, chinuch, shabbos, yomtov etc...There are a few tips O got from it and probably if I read it again I will get some more. I would compare to the tips you get through chinuch, housework, yomtov sections on Imamother without all the chatting in between.
