Why are ladies so obsessed with silly cutesy poems?
Doesn’t make a difference if they work or stay at home,
Every day they’re asking for a special rhyme or verse:
They think it’s oh-so-elegant, but truly, it’s a curse!
Don’t you know the best thing you can do is be sincere?
Someone else’s words are not what people want to hear!
Using someone else’s work is tantamount to stealing,
And, anyway, a stranger doesn’t know what you are feeling.
“Be yourself” the how-to books eternally advise,
A grown-up person knows that “be yourself” is truly wise,
For if you pass off as your own the work of someone else,
Why then, what you have done is just erased your very self.
Someone else’s words will be no better than your own,
Your friends like you as you and not as someone else’s clone.
Whom are you deceiving when you copy from another?
When you take the credit for the work of some “amother”?
People in the know are not impressed by sing-song rhyme,
By mediocre doggerel that isn’t worth a dime.
Oh, spare us tortured lines that, forced to rhyme, are just inane;
Far better is a heartfelt note that says it straight and plain.

I must applaud your wisdom and your pithy common sense
You must often feel that everyone is dense
They just don't get the things that are so obvious to you
They don't agree with statements that are very clearly true
But perhaps among their friends poems are quite cherished
On the rocks of cutesy rhymes a friendship never perished
I'd love it if someone gave a cutesy rhyme to me
Their thoughtfulness would mask the cutesyness, you see
I doubt it if someone can easily go wrong
Whether with a bit of verse, a picture or a song
What matters is the kindness and the love that they display
And any sort of thoughtfulness will make a person's day
But if I am ever to give a birthday card to you
I'll make sure it's in prose, and hope that that'll do!

Ah, but here's the rub, why the poesy giver needn't bother,
It's likely the recipient already read the verses on imamother!

Louche, you have to realize not everybody can
Rhyme the way you do, you have special talent, man
Of course if I were you I wouldn't need to borrow
But that is not the case, to my great sorrow
So I need to shnorrer verse from the likes of you
Take it as a compliment, you have talent through and through!

What type of scream are you talking about
Loud - as in 'give us a shout'
High Pitched - as in ' I have some clout'
Silent - as in ' I'm stuck'
Quack - as in ' You sound like a duck'?
Scream and shout with all your might
Lash out and kick, go on, its alright
