Someone posted about these names a loooong time ago, and I found more explanations recently so I add this.

Poza: is either a form of Rosa, or from Hebrew Paz (gold).

Pigla: is probably from Feigla (peh yud gimel lamed alef).

It isnt Pigla. It's faigeleh. You misread it.

it's spelled

פיגלא

with a fei, not a pei. I have a cousin named faigele and that's how she spells it.

No. It is Pigla.
My father had a patient in his office with that name.
It's awful.

It is Pigla.

No Jewish name is fail to me. Doesn't mean I want to use it, and doesn't mean if I had to use it I'd choose it as first name.

No offense to all the Piglas out there, but even if I "had" to use it, I'd change it to Faige or something like that. No way I am carrying a child for 9 months only to call her "Pigla".

My name is Fayga and I absolutely hate my name, but I guess I should thank my lucky stars that my parents didn't name me Pigla. LOL

My name is also Fayge, I'm not in a Yiddish speaking envoirnment and while I'm not thrilled with the name I've gotten used to it over the years, but I agree it's a lot better than Pigla. Maybe it's not so bad for somebody who doesn't live in an English speaking country.....
