recently I've been noticing that when my oldest daughter who is 6 (and is a bit challanging) doesnt listen right away, sometimes my dh will grab her by the arm to get her attenction. I dont like it and I've told him and she doesnt like it either.

Depends on how hard he's grabbing, and why, I should think. If he's taking her arm gently to get her attention and turning her so she's looking him in the face, that's fine. But I think that you wouldn't be disturbed if that were the case. If he's grabbing her angrily and hard, squeezing the flesh so it hurts or yanking her around, I'd be disturbed, too. In public schools that would be considered corporal punishment and a teacher could be dismissed for that.
