My laptop is shutting down frequently and is overheating. The computer repair guy refused to take my laptop to repair for $80, saying I should rather go and get a laptop cooler. What's better? a laptop cooling pad like this one:

I had the same problem and bought something similar to your second link. Since I have been using it my computer hasn't shut itself off from overheating.
