Keep in mind that usually the income in a particular area correlates to the expenses (at least in the USA). For example, NYC teachers will get paid a lot more than teachers in Detroit. Same with nurses, therapists, etc. The math doesn't exactly even out, but those in NYC will get paid more for the same job.

We earn about $4000/m between income and government payments. 4 kids. We pay 1775/month in rent. Living expenses where I am are high, we are in significant debt (about $12K in credit card alone) just from simple living expenses over time. We also have a car loan that we have to pay out of that.
Tuition here ranges from about $12K-22K a year per child depending on grade. We are not paying tuition.

we bring home between 15,000-20,000 NIS, depending on the month. Prob an average of 17,000 NIS. two young kids, israel obviously. DH and I are both teachers.
