We are making a bas mitzvah for dd and her friends. We came up with the idea of making an elegant afternoon tea as a theme. For the craft, we were thinking about painting tea cups (open to suggestions, though!)
For the menu, we are making mini tuna and egg salad sandwiches, min-muffins, scones, veggie platter lemonade, iced-tea, and a variety of desserts. I need a main dish, though, something simple that will kind of fit in. I would like for it to be pareve. Can be a hot or cold dish. I don't want anything like fish sticks. I'd like something on the elegant side.
I'd love to hear suggestions!
Thanks!

quiche? pasta? (kids love pasta but really it should be milchig) mini borekas, salmon,
you don't really serve hot food at tea so I am a bit stymied.

OP here: I like the idea of borekas. My kids all eat salmon, but do most kids? Salmon could be good with everything else. Maybe a cold pasta salad? I'd like to keep things pareve, if possible

You can make pretty deviled eggs.
I saw a Caesar style tuna wellington recipe here, which I think most kids would go for.

Mac and cheese cupcakes-milchigs, but yummy and can be served warm, not hot.
Fritters-like zucchinni from kosher palette or some other kid friendly kind of blini.
Maybe mini calzones/pizza pockets with store bought pizza dough-you could do some with cheese and some without.
I had a tea party birthday for my 11th birthday-it was super fun! Mazel tov!
