I am ordering custom bed skirts and I am measuring from the top of my box-springs to... the floor? Where are the bed skirts supposed to hit, skimming the floor? An inch above?

1/4 inch above
ETA: just make sure they dont also take off 1/4 inch and then you are 1/2 inch short!

Give the place you're ordering from your measurement and tell them that it is from the top of the box spring to the floor and they will figure out the proper height (that's what I did).

I got custom bed skirts because:
1) the height of my boxspring plus frame was not standard
2) I wanted a certain design & style not available otherwise
It is quite common to get custom bed skirts when purchasing high quality linens.
