In J'lem for pre pre pilot trip, interested in Rehovot. Looking for chardal community, English yeshiva, Ashkenaz shul where they DO NOT TALK during davening. Want to go visit! Any leads, ideas, welcome. Would like to be near the sea...

How old are you? The chatam crowd might be older than you would feel comfortable with.

I second Chatam. It is a chareidi/ chardal/ strong MO mix. They do not talk during davenning there. The rav is Rav Stein.
Rehovot is not by the sea.

we just spent a shabbos in rechovot at chatam and were very impressed. the shul is a mixture like others said but the people really take their davening seriously and there is no talking. the rav is chareidi, Rav Stein but he knows how to deal with all types and the people get along so well even though everyone is different. you can email pary26@yahoo.com--she is the klitah coordinator at the shul. Rav Stein also started his own boys elementary school that we really liked. post more questions if you have.
