Looking for some advice here...
Is it kedai to give out my resume freely to online recruiters or agencies? Is this a stupid thing to do? Any other job-finding ideas?
I really need a job for next year, and I'm feeling so lost...

There are so many online places to look. Did you google at all?
You can try recruiters but just know that they will HARASS you and call you a LOT, even after you accept a job. My SIL has been working for 4+ years and STILL gets called even though she told them not to. First look online, then attempt to call a recruiter if necessary.
