She is young as are the kids around her. It is gonna be tough for her to have it in too so if its her chosen color she will be more excited and her classmates will too.

So long as she is happy with the color and happy wearing it let her choose...

besides, pink rox Wink

I agree pink. I think your telling her to get brown to "hide" it will be teaching her that she has something to be ashamed of. Which she doesn't!! It's not like if it's brown no one will know. It's still going to be seen. I agree I"YH she will have the opportunity in a few years to get a brown one that blends in more.

This. When we got hearing aids for my 9-month old baby my DH wanted to get them colored so that he would grow up with an emphasis on not being ashamed of the aids. I said let's get tan, and when he's 4 and needs new ones he can choose, but our emphasis is on building his confidence.

Thanks for your responses. I feel much better now about the pink.

It is the hearing aid and not the ear mold: It's from Oticon:

My ds used to go to a school that specialized in hearing impairment. Many children had hearing aids. They were all noticeable, but the ones who had cool colors looked cool compared to the rest. It makes people have a totally different attitude towards it.

When my dd had casts on her feet, her whole class was involved in choosing the colors each week. They were always excited to see what colors she got when she came back to school. Colors can make things exciting instead of a cause for pity.

In other words, I totally think you should go for the pink.

go for the pink, it is her hearing aid and if she thinks it is nice, she will wear it more.

they are noticeable anyway, and nothing to hide on the other hand

Good luck. it takes a period of adjustment and getting used to; G-d willing she will learn to depend on it more and more

Pink! Instead of looking like a hearing aid it looks like a bluetooth earpeice or some new tech gadget!
