My weekday shaitel really needs a wash, but I work every day and therefore dont have the time needed for me to wash it, let dry overnite, then blowdry and be ready to wear before I have to be at work again. At this point I dont have a backup shaitel to wear for a day, nor do I feel comfortable wearing a snood to work.
I generally do it over a shabbos, but last friday I was crazy busy till the zman. Oh, and I work Sundays too, so that wasnt an option. What can I do to freshen it up until I have the time to give it a proper wash?

TIA

Get a spray bottle. Squirt some conditioner inside. Fill it up with water. Shake well to mix.

Spray sheitel all over with spray. Brush smooth.
I do it almost everyday, once the sheitel loses that freshly washed look.

Wouldn't that make it sticky?

I would just go over it a little bit with a styling tool

I usually put in bio silk and I find it freshens it up.

Not sticky at all. It comes out so soft and smooth. Much softer and less tangly.
My sheitel is naturally straight so when it gets wet from the spray it comes out nice. If your sheitel curls when wet you might have a harder time with this.
Its esp. good for getting my side bangs out of my eyes. They fall over time then I spritz it and brush it away from my face and I'm good for a couple of days.

Doesnt get greasy either. Its not rocket science. Try it. It works really well for me. I use the spritz for my dd's hair too as a detangler.
I only use like a tablespoon of conditioner for a spray bottle that holds about a cup.

I spray Charles Worthington Heat Spray on mine before running my ghds on it. I don't know if this is a worldwide product, but I assume the principle is the same as the diluted conditioner.

I tried dry shampoo and found it had no effect on my sheitel.

I wash just the bangs and a small amount of the front layers while wearing the sheitel (I just lean over the sink), then blot/dry them with a towel and blowdry them. All while still wearing it. You can always put it in a half or full pony if the rest of the sheitel isn't looking so good. It's a temporary fix that works for me.

I would just wash/spray w/ water the bangs and the front angles (and top layer all around if you have time) and blow it. That is usually what really needs fixing up. Bio silk is also a good idea if u need a 'quick fix' right b4 you go out.

If its a real emergency, I brush baby powder through the part that looks greasy! Good for a quick fix but doesn't last longer than a day.
