My son's class to is set to go on a day-long fieild trip tomorrow, Dec. 31st, secular New Year Eve. (It was actually postponed from last week) They are leaving at 9 am and not getting back until 9 or 10 at night. The trip is about 4 hours, on a mostly not well-lit stretch of highway. With all of the drinking that will go on tomorrow night, can begin anytime after people get out of work, I am very reluctant to send him on the trip. Another parent is set to drive then in the van.
I think the trip is a very bad idea tomorrow. What do you think?

I share your concerns. I would speak to the school and ask them o reschedule again.
