I currently have cable and phone service from Optimum (Cablevision). I'm really happy with the service, but they're becoming really expensive, about $95 a month. I'm wondering if there are other, cheaper providers. I'm not necessarily looking for cable; I may consider DSL or other speeds. TIA!

the only really comparable is verizon but I have done the research and only FIOS has good speeds. However, it is not available in many locations. Check online if they service your block and area.

clearwire.com, it is wireless, picks up a signal from a tower similar to cell service. I have great service as I have a few towers nearby. You have to check their map. I pay about $60 for internet and phone. The only time I lost service is during Hurricane Sandy.
